Facebook coin. Tumblr: Neocronica, 2012.
(It’s more fun without the explanation)
Every time you Like someone’s picture you are tossing them a dime. The question is: who ends up with the coin? You may point out to the owners, to global brands or to small advertisers. But you’re in the greed business too — too many coins mean devalue your currency. On a daily basis you are negotiating the value of your Like coin. Now: are you trying to buy friends? Or better: can friends be bought? And further: are they being dealt on the currency of your liking? And on the top of it: is Liking the same as liking?
