A Crush to the Fountain
and Marcel Duchamp

breathing from my diaphragm
pent-up to see u
self-flushing liver i go
goat farm over carnations
choosing me over him
bare & stiff at times
face to face the steam
a crush i don’t flush
readymade otherwise

It’s More Art Monday! The Museum is closed, but our online galleries are open. Here, a few of our paintings from Marcel Duchamp…

See the gallery

And now, a look at Marcel Duchamp’s other side! Thanks for sharing, Philadelphia Museum of Art!

Duchamp photographed by Stieglitz… brilliant!
cavetocanvas:

Fountain - Marcel Duchamp, 1917
This image by Alfred Stiegltiz is the only known image of Duchamp’s original Fountain, which disappeared when it was rejected for exhibition. Duchamp being Duchamp created several other versions by buying urinals and signing them “R. Mutt 1917.”
