The American Dream a Dedication to Tobias Wong
SUBMISSION:
On the anniversary of infamous artist/designer Tobias Wong’s death industrial designer Brandon Washington of ME and my HYENA reinterprets Mr. Wong’s project dreams. Brandon created a sign and a stand that read The American Dream $1.00. The wood stand held brown paper bags, and inside the bottom of the bag is a mirror that reflected the purchaser. The project is inspired by a quote stated in the book Air Guitar by David Hickey:
“Anyone who can’t sell a bag of air with a dream inside it doesn’t deserve to call himself an American, much less an art dealer.”
