Flux (noun): the flow; change; the natural state of things. This unique experimental film provides a poetic glimpse into the will of the human psyche over the state of one’s own perception in the midst of an existential crisis. “Flux” empowers the audience with the freedom of choice in where one’s respective mind dwells, acknowledging the human potential to reach a more positive space. The nature of all things may be impermanent, and the human experience fleeting, but one does not need to dwell in the darkness. We are connected by our human condition, and deeply interconnected through our roots in the greater cosmic perspective.

Shot solely using 16mm, giving the content a sense of timelessness and aiding the film’s surreal ambiance, this film from San Francisco State University student Jamie Oliveira shows how a shift in perception can change how you experience reality.
